
John W. Bowen
Managing Director
John Bowen is a co-founder and managing director of 31 North Capital Partners. John is a lifelong entrepreneur, having procured his first bank loan at the age of 13, formed his first LLC at age 18, and founded his first multi-million dollar business venture at age 24. It is with this background in early stage business development that John brings a uniquely qualified approached to managing the complexities and challenges of leading an idea from the conceptual to the concrete.
John formerly served as a co-founder and principal of 31 North Wealth Management, an RIA registered in the state of Georgia. In that role, John engaged in managing advisory and investment operations, as well as guiding business development activities.
Prior to co-founding 31 North Capital Partners and 31 North Wealth Management, John founded John Bowen Turf Company in 2011. Located in South Georgia, John Bowen Turf Co. supplied professional grade turf grass to sports facilities, landscapers, and contractors throughout the Southeast. Mr. Bowen served that firm as its Owner and President for 9 years. John also served as a Director on the Board of the Georgia Crop Improvement Association during his ownership tenure at John Bowen Turf Co. Within that same organization, Mr. Bowen served as a member of the Association's Certification Committee. Mr. Bowen negotiated and consummated the profitable sale of John Bowen Turf Co. in May 2019, successfully marking his first exit from a startup company.
John Bowen graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree and minored in Animal Science. Mr. Bowen is a licensed investment adviser representative, having successfully completed the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam. The Series 65 exam requires all candidates possess a working knowledge of general economic factors, business financial reporting practices, characteristics and valuation methods of investment vehicles, methods of quantitative analysis, strategies behind client investment recommendations, as well as laws and regulations governing the financial industry. The Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam is produced by the North American Securities Administrators Association and administered by FINRA.
John currently resides in Tifton, Georgia. His interests include travel, film, music, wildlife and land management, and geopolitics.
